Post Lore, Quests, and Leveling.

I understand Wintersun is currently in Alpha and is still in the process of development but I do wish it had a story or lore behind it. Such as how the factions came to be, what they stand for and what there purpose is right now. I also wish the Oracle would provide us with more wisdom and act as if it was certain in it's statements.(As Oracles are portrayed to have knowledge beyond the publics awareness.) Not only will lore allow the player to submerse themself into the game but for roleplayers such as myself, it would provide more substance to work with instead of improvising and making up the reasons why things are the way they are. I did suggest to Ian that I am up for the task, but unfortunately he currently does not have the time to develop this into reality. I understand this may prove time consuming but please don't dismiss it, a good story never hurt a game.
Also, Quests in-game still seem to be obsolete. They provide very little gold, no information as to where to find the targets nor is there a way to check your quests, forcing you to find the NPC that gave you that specific quest. The quests also all seem to be bounty-esque, meaning that they're based on hunting and killing that specific target, lacking variety and getting rather repetitive quickly. Maybe add some narrative, more gold & some armor/weapon rewards?
Finally, on the matter of leveling and the experience you gain. When leveling, the main issue at lower levels is that there are usually higher leveled enemy NPCs around the lower leveled ones making farming difficult. The exp gained though, is quite rewarding. The grind gets a lot more difficult when you reach about lvl 70+ though. As I am currently lvl 85, I have realized that the monsters at lvl 93+ give me very little exp.(2-5%.) This wouldn't be an issue if it didn't take a long duration to kill them(about 5-10 minutes.) even with my pet out. There are currently no lvl 80s, and the lvl 75 spirit provides no exp to me anymore. I'm not sure if the low exp is intentional but it does prove very time consuming. I'm not sure but if possible, can you raise the exp drop? If not, maybe lower those monsters health a bit?
Anyways, those are my thoughts on the game right now. It is is heading in the right direction but there is always room for improvement. Thank you to whomever may read this, and if Ian does change anything due to this post thank you in advance.

I think that Ian doesn't based WinterSun on a lore before developing it, this may difficult the lore creation but it's still possible to do.
About the quests, some of them are a bit weird, like killing 6 npcs lvl+60 for 30 gold pieces lol. The good ones are those that gives you armor or weapons (not the might ones). Some exp extra would be nice when completing quests.
I'm leveling up a new character (protectorate called Nerie) and i don't faced any annoying issue in the farming system. The most difficult thing to do, is finding good npcs to farm that drop cool things. Nerie is lvl 24, i farmed those bats in the dessert (center of the map) and got really nice equipment, now i'm farming millipedes lvl 25. It could be difficult for the new unexperienced players that doesn't know the location of npcs of their levels.

Yeah, maybe Ian can set the signs near those areas to say what creatures lie around there or maybe have a guard give you some info. Something that'll help those anti-social newbies out.
